The lorry driver’s mission is to transport the goods he carries in his truck by road. His assignments can vary in duration depending on the clients he needs to deliver to.Driving occupies a large part of their working time, while commercial, technical, and administrative functions are becoming increasingly important in this profession.

The driver must be able to detect faults in their vehicle and carry out simple repairs.

He can carry out various activities, either regional transport: the driver makes one or more deliveries in the region or in another nearby region and generally returns home each day.

  • From National Transport: the driver makes one or more deliveries with trips that involve nights away from home.
  • International Transport: the driver departs for several days and returns once a week.

 

The lorry driver must carry out the following tasks:

  • supervise the loading of goods
  • respect the safety conditions by adhering to mandatory break times
  • to keep an eye on the transported goods
  • respect the delivery deadlines
  • proceed with the delivery of the goods to the customers
  • supervise the unloading of goods
  • get the delivery notes signed
  • maintaining one's truck
  • update the dashboards, the delivery slips, and all regulatory documents
  • representing one's company to clients.
